A Christian Blog on Matthew and Luke Christmas Story

It's common for every Christian to have in mind the typical Christian story in which Jesus was born in a manger when Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem to register. Then somewhere nearby the angel appeared to the Shepherd and announce the good news. And then there came the magi with their respective gifts for the King of kings.

This Christian famous Christmas story is actually a combination of Luke and Matthews stories.

The elements pertaining to Matthew's are:

  • conceived by the Holy Spirit
  • magi - wise men from the east
  • massacre of the children
  • escaping to Egypt

And the elements pertaining to Luke's are:

  • conceived by the holy spirit
  • register for taxation
  • manger
  • shepherds

Notice also the Mark and John had no account of the first Christian Christmas.

Between Matthew and Luke, the difference could be that Matthew is proving more that Jesus is the most awaited messiah as foretold by the prophets while Luke tend to appeal to history, i.e. proving that Jesus was a historical figure. The main problem however is that King Herod in Matthew has reigned ten yeasr before the sensus.

A Christian Blog on -Business, Computer and Health

Christian life is about an ordinary life. Going to church, regular prayers, charitable works are indeed things that are commonly associated to Christian life. Well, indeed they are very descriptive of typical Christian living, but it should not be limited on them.

Christian life is simply about life, an ordinary life. We pray and we go to mass but we are Christians seven days a week and twenty four hours a day.

Ordinary people think mostly about computers, health and business – well they can do so by being a Christian at the same time. One maybe posting something in a network website, another one maybe busy counting his money and preparing his next business strategy while a new mum is a bit worried of her little one’s baby acne – all these they can do in a Christian way.

But how? The answer is simple and straight forward. Do it in the name of Love. Love is God, anything done name of love is done in the name of God.

Christmas Story

The first Christmas by St. Matthew.

Notice how Matthew wrote the first Christmas story - yopu will find that it most major events were conclouded by: in order that the what has been foretold by the prophets may be fulfilled.

If the life of Jesus is a fulfilment of the prophesies, then everything was just a show. The characters were just playing their respective roles. Such of course is not in consonat with Christian teaching about freedom.

It is very likely that Matthew was only making stories that will be helpful in teaching that Jesus was the messiah where the people of Israel were awaiting for. During those time such was very important because that will be most credible to make allusion to the prophesies in the old testament with regards to the life of Jesus.

A Christian Blog on the Biological Father of Jesus

What about if Jesus was after all not conceived by the Holy Spirit? Does it matter?

Not at all. In fact it is more sensible and fitting that Jesus should have a biological father.

More sensible and fitting because according to According to St. Paul, "though he was in the form of God, [Jesus] did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross" (Phil 2:6-8).

Being conceived by the holy spirit is indeed something to be grasped at.

So why did Luke and Matthew told this story about Jesus being conceived by the Holy Spirit?

The simple reason is that the early Christian has to prove that Jesus was indeed the mesiah that has been foretold in the old testament hence they made a point that everything that the prophets said about the coming messiah has been alluded to Jesus.

A Christian blog on Marriage

Staying Together for the Sake of the Children

When couples say “I do” in marriage, more often than not, they don’t know what they are saying “I do” for. Perhaps it is better that they don’t otherwise nobody will ever get married.

After a brief period of honeymoon then reality comes. Each one discovers more the real personality behind the person they chose to marry - most of the time this discovery is more discouraging rather than fulfilling. Before they got married, most likely, they already knew the beauty and goodness of the other hence what is left for them to find out are the ugly ones.

With this discovery, conflicts, disharmony, series of marital war, disenchantment, misunderstanding and the like took over. And more likely this will be followed by diminishing of one’s display of affections and sweet nothingness talk, and slowly their love for each other starts to melt down.

Despite all these many couples will make use of their thinking faculty and will decide to make up with their partners and look forward to a better, healthier and more loving relationship in the future. Unfortunately whilst this healthier and better relationship can actually happen, nonetheless this will not last for long. The second, the third, the fourth and so forth and so on, storms in marriage are surely coming.

This series of conflicts that occurs in marriages creates a deposit of some sort of emotional pains on each other. And every time conflict arises, these emotional pains pile up until it goes to a point that one or both don’t want to take anymore. All of a sudden they begin to contemplate and consider separation.

After some times of reflection, couple may find it sensible, practical and wise to consider separation but in the end they have to answer this big question, “But what about the children?”

This consideration of children’s welfare serves as a stumbling block to their intention of separating. While some couples in this state just closed their eyes before their children and parted ways with their other half, but still there are also many who are strong-willed and have great sense of parental responsibility who will not compromise their children’s welfare. These kind of parents will opt to stay no matter how hell-like their marriage maybe.

These parents will stop loving their partner and carry on with their parental role as usual in order that they can give their best in bringing up their children. They will live as if the other does not exist but over a period of time nature heals their wounds. Little by little, their anger and disgust toward their partners subsided. Soon they will find themselves falling in love with their partners and sooner their marriage comes back to life again. Every now and then conflict between them arises but experience has taught them a great deal that they can now easily manage to co-exist and keep their marriage despite those marital conflicts.
The best part of this is that children grew up within a fully intact family and with guidance from parents whose main source of motivation is their unconditional love for their children.

Indeed staying together for the sake of the children is worth opting for. For how can a person be genuinely happy when at the back of his head there are children whom he left which maybe suffering or being led astray?

Indeed it’s worth saving one’s marriage for the sake of the children. But is it really saving one’s marriage because of their children or is it their children saving their marriage? Can the decision of separation be easier without the children? Thanks God they exist otherwise it will be very easy to separate.
Man and woman are much different in many respect, one being coming from Mars and the other from Venus, hence trying to make them one will surely creates conflicts – but thanks to their children, they will be able to overcome this.

A Christian Blog commentary on Luke 5:17-26

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 5:17-26.

One day as Jesus was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was with him for healing.

commetn: why is the Lord distinct from Jesus?

And some men brought on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed; they were trying to bring him in and set (him) in his presence. But not finding a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on the stretcher through the tiles into the middle in front of Jesus.

comment: who is responsible for repairing the roof?

When he saw their faith, he said, "As for you, your sins are forgiven." Then the scribes and Pharisees began to ask themselves, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who but God alone can forgive sins?"

comment: did Jesus actually say this? During thoswe time if you are paralyzed or blind, it meant that you have commited some sins that brought about your illness but Jesus, God as he is, knew that such was not true.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them in reply, "What are you thinking in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise and walk'? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins''--he said to the man who was paralyzed, "I say to you, rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home."

comment: Jesus healed the paralyzed man because he wanted to prove that the pharisees et al were wrong. Should he be thankful the the pharisees then; The Son of Man. Why Man. Isn't he the son of God.

He stood up immediately before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying God. Then astonishment seized them all and they glorified God, and, struck with awe, they said, "We have seen incredible things today."

commetn: all glorified God. Thus including the pharisees and the teachers of the law.

St. Zacchaeus of Jericho

An open letter to Pope Benedict XVI

Most Holy Father Pope Benedict,

How are you. I Hope you are well.

I am just wondering, will it be okay with you to canonize Zachaeus of Jericho? I just thought that it will be a very good idea to make him a saint and offer to Filipino politicians as their patron saint.

With St. Zacchaeus as their patron saint, every time they meet, e.g. senate or congressional meetings, they can conclude the invocational prayer with St. Zacchaeus, pray for us.

And everytime they celebrate mass, the gospel narrating St. Zacchaeus story will be read before them.

They can also hang a poster of St. Zacchaeus in all government offices to serve as constant reminder of the virtue of giving back to people their ill-gotten wealth.

With St. Zacchaeus as their (Filipino politicians) main source of inspiration, graft and corruption in the Philippines will come to an end. (Bingo!)

Just imagine, Your Holiness Pope Benedict, if all corrupt Filipino politicians and government employees will say:

"Look, Your Holiness Pope Benedict! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

Not only graft and corruption but also poverty in the Philippines will be never be hard of again.

I've got a funny feeling that St. Zacchaeus inspiration will be 4x more effective to corrupt Filipino government officials who are short in stature.

Looking forward for your kind approval to this request.

Best regards and God bless,

Luke 19:2-10 (New International Version)

2A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. 4So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today." 6So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

7All the people saw this and began to mutter, "He has gone to be the guest of a 'sinner.' "

8But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

9Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."

Lord, that I may see agian

Lord, that I may see again. This is from a blind man who has been shouting the name of Jesus Son of David in which Jesus approached and asked if what does he wanted. And that was his answer.

Christian life is partaking in the mission of Jesus in our own unique way relative to our own calling and talent. This means that we should do what Jesus did in accordance to our God-given gifts. So what did Jesus do? He taught he preached, he made friends with others, he prayed, he cured the sick. One very special form of healing practiced by Jesus is re-storing eyesight, or healing the blind. Healing during the time of Jesus was also called miracles.

Today, blinds are not hopeless; they can still have their eyesight back. They can see again because there are people today, like Jesus, who helps in bringing eyesight to our blind brothers. Their works are also miracles, for like Jesus they help people who wanted to see again.

Physicians who cure other people’s eyes are sharing in the healing ministry of Jesus. They are miracles to their patients. We need to encourage, rally behind, and support. Yes we need to support them. By supporting them the more that they can help our blind brothers and sisters and the more that we partake in Jesus’ mission.

A Christian Blog on Christian Pet

Many love to have his or her own pet. Having a pet enhanced man's wellbeing. Normally a pet is an animal. We take care of our pet by taming it. Our success pet-wise is measured by how much we have tamed our pet.

There is duality in man. We are persons with body and soul. We are human and animal at the same time. There is an animal deep within us. The maturity of a Christian can be measured by how much we have tamed the animal deep within.

Have you heard of religious persons falling into grace. Do you know why there are deeply religious Christians in the government offices who practiced rampant corruptions. The dimple reason is that they failed to tame the animals deep within themselves. Yes, as chruch goers, as Christians they are true and sincere (at least by intention) but they are not strong enough to take control of the animals in thenm.

The spirit is willing but the animal is weak.

A Christian Blog on Mama Mia

Does it matter to know who your biological father is? Jesus has none but we all knew that St. Joseph took good care of him as his own flesh and blood.

Some of us are lucky to grow with our father (biological) to be always around, guiding us, playing with us, as our all around handy man and a buddy to lean on that you can count on always. Sadly, some never knew who their real father is, but in place of their father is a step father. So what's the big deal? Does it really matter to know or find your real father when you got a 'real' father. If Jesus has done his mission successfully and so you will.

But of course knowing your biological father will be very helpful in terms of your emotional well being. It will answer many questions and give you a sense of identity and connectedness. However in Christian context this is not necessarily important. You can still live a life to the full even without knowing who your biological father is.

Mama mia the movie is about a young lady (Sophie) who did not know if who her biological father was but she found out that three men could be one of them. Hoping that she could find out when she meets them she invited them all to her wedding.

And so, who do you think is Sophies'real father?

Text Criticism on Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 18:1-8.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 18:1-8.

Then he told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said, There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being. And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, 'Render a just decision for me against my adversary.' For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, 'While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.'" The Lord said, "Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

The Judge - God

(Judge) not God Fearing, not respecting any human being - (God) Loves everyone UNCONDITIONALLY

The widow - Person who prays (a prayér)

(Judge) motive - get rid of the woman; (God) - motive: love and care for humans

The analogy is bad. While both God and Judge answered request (prayer) the motivations/ attitude of them are significantly different.

In reading the bible, just focus on the theological point. We have very little idea about the background and circumstance behind the story. Just ignore the literary form when you found it not so palatable.

Finlay on the question, will he find faith on earth? Maybe yes but perhaps not as big as a mustard seed, lest we've seen mountains hovering above.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 16:1-8

Filipino politicians should be banned from reading this passage from the gospel of St. Luke. I can't understand why such kind of story should find itself in the Holy Bible. This is promoting corruption.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 16:1-8.

Then he also said to his disciples, "A rich man had a steward who was reported to him for squandering his property. He summoned him and said, 'What is this I hear about you? Prepare a full account of your stewardship, because you can no longer be my steward.' The steward said to himself, 'What shall I do, now that my master is taking the position of steward away from me? I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg. I know what I shall do so that, when I am removed from the stewardship, they may welcome me into their homes.' He called in his master's debtors one by one. To the first he said, 'How much do you owe my master?' He replied, 'One hundred measures of olive oil.' He said to him, 'Here is your promissory note. Sit down and quickly write one for fifty.' Then to another he said, 'And you, how much do you owe?' He replied, 'One hundred kors of wheat.' He said to him, 'Here is your promissory note; write one for eighty.' And the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently. "For the children of this world are more prudent in dealing with their own generation than are the children of light.

Why Christians like to believe in hell?

Why Christians like to believe in hell?

Many people believe in hell because they are animals.

What’s the connection?

Man is an animal. Animals are hungry for blood. Do you know why boxing is a very lucrative industry? Why boxing promoters and champions are humongously richer than ordinary people? It’s because boxing is bloody and animals like blood hence they can easily market boxing for there is a bloody need for blood. Animals thrive for survival, animals like to see its opponent bloody dead.

So why do Christians love to believe in hell? Because as Christians they are not supposed to inflict harm to their enemies, they are bound by the law that says Thou shalt not kill. So they say, okay, I don’t have to harm you now but I am sure you will rot in hell (what a great deviation from Jesus teaching: Love your enemies.)

A genuine Christian is like the saint who said, Ï want my rapist/killer to be with me in heaven.

A Christian Blog on the Evangelists writing styles

If the Gospels are historical account of Jesus life why do some passages which are supposed to be similar are different?

Below is Mark and Matthew's version of James and John's request? Is this just a simple error or do the authors have different intention in narrating them.

The point being is that while the gospels are books of truth, they are not historically true necessarily. In other words if you take it as a book of history then you might be missing the important point.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 10:35-45.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you." He replied, "What do you wish (me) to do for you?" They answered him, "Grant that in your glory we may sit one at your right and the other at your left." Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?" They said to him, "We can." Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink, you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized; but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give but is for those for whom it has been prepared." When the ten heard this, they became indignant at James and John. Jesus summoned them and said to them, "You know that those who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt. But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all. For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Matthew 20:20-28 (New International Version)

A Mother's Request
20Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.
21"What is it you want?" he asked.
She said, "Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom."

22"You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said to them. "Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?"
"We can," they answered.

23Jesus said to them, "You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father."

24When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Something to think about

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11:37-41.

After he had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.

Think about this. Imagine you are not A Christian and you don't know anything about the bible.

How would you feel when you have invited someone to dine in your house and then sudenly he started talking something about your weakness, negative traits and the like. Think about this.

A Christian blog on online evangelization

We are now in the age of information technology and internet is the most powerful leverage. Sadly, the works of Satan seem to be taking advantage of this leverage rather than the works of good.

It’s about time that Christian evangelizers should take action. The message of Christianity should be preach to the whole world as quickly as possible or else Satan will win.

The generation Y are online most of the time. They are very fragile and prone evil information. They will be future generation; they will be the future Christians. If we want Christianity to have a holy future we must bring God’s words to them.
It will be a sin of omission if we don’t do anything about it. Internet technology should be working for Christianity rather than against Christianity. Information technology should be utilized to tell the world of God’s love.
Christian websites should multiply. They should grow exponentially and they should speak the language of the Generation Y. They should be understandable by the youth of today.

Christian websites should be hosted by an appropriate webhost. A webhost for Christians. A webhost that can speak the language of younger Christians. A webhost that is good enough to be the Generation Y apple of the eye.
Indeed web hosting is very important. Christians bloggers and Christian web owners should find theright webhost. They should go for the No. 1.

A Christian Blog on Hell

The Evil of believing in Hell

Believing in hell is a lost - lost situation i.e. as opposed to win win situation. Hell may actually exist and so we must believe in its existence but the conventional idea that if you committed heavy sinful acts you will be punished by God by condemning you to hell.

What is wrong with this belief is the idea that God is punitive. But Christians knew that God is love.

The evil of believing in hell the conventional way is that it distort the idea of God as love. It makes God insult itself (i.e. creating lot of craps and evil in the world.) It encourage Christians to do good not because of the virtue of doing good but because of fear of hell.

Christians motivation should be love not fear. Yes hell exist but it exist because God is love,. The only reason why hell exist is that God love those souls in the hell so much - UNCONDITIONALLY.

Heroes of newerth

Christian life is a battle between the good and the evil. At the end of time the evil will be overcome by The Good.

Growing into Christian maturity entails a lot of conflicts. The key to survival is constant prayer and fasting.

Your goal is to conquer the evil. Many times you will fall, much time you will be defeated but there is always the assurance that in the end you will prevail. There is no way for the evil to win as long as you keep on fighting.

The more you win the more you grow as mature Christian. When fight the evil forces, be it in a form of human, or a friend, or a real enemy. Of a bad habit or physical weakness, or pressure from your peers, always remember that God is with you.

Just keep on fighting as if you are playing a computer game. Be one like the heroes of newerth. You shall conquer the evil forces. Fight till the end. Never give up.

Follow Me - A Christian blog on Jesuits

Ever wonder why Jesuits are so humble and simple. They do not care much about public adulation and praises.

I once had a teacher who was a Jesuit priest. I was a bit struggling with my term paper. "Luckily" (at least for me) He died before the end of the term hence I had all the time in the world to finish my work. Anyway the relevance of the story is that, during his wake, his coffin was placed in the chapel without anyone holding a vigil or guarding it. At first I was shock, thinking that those bloody Jesuits were so selfish to leave their brother in that state. Now I understand their concept of humility. SJ for simple Jesuits.

An excerp from Ignatian Spiritual Exercise:

Saint Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556), Founder of the Jesuits
Spiritual Exercises, 2nd.Week, 12th.Day (trans.Thomas Corbishley)

«Follow me »

The three ways of humility. The first way of humility is necessary for salvation. It consists in my subjecting and abasing myself as far as I can, so that I always obey the law of God our Lord, at least to this extent: even if men were to offer to make me Lord of the entire creation, even were my life threatened, I should yet not think of breaking any commandment, divine or human...

The second way of humility is more perfect than the first. It means that I so submit myself that I neither seek nor desire to be rich rather than poor, I do not try to be well thought of rather than disregarded, I do not want to live many years rather than few, where the service of our Lord God and my own salvation are equally promoted...

The third way of humility is the most perfect. Supposing that I have attained to the first two ways, and granted an equal measure of praise and glory to God, I desire to be poor along with Christ in poverty rather than rich, to be insulted along with Christ so grossly insulted, rather than to be thought well of: I would rather be thought a helpless fool for the sake of Christ who was so treated, rather than to be thought «wise and prudent» in the world's eyes (Mt 11,25).

A Christian Blog on Greek Untitled God

A Christian Blog on St. Paul failed mission.
Untitled Thoughts, Wishes. Paul wish for the untitled God.
When St Paul attempted to convert the Greeks, he noticed that Greeks have so many gods. They have different gods for different things. A god of love, god of sea, god of the earth, etc.
But Greeks are still not happy with all their gods. They think that they could be missing something, hence among other gods, they set aside one which was their God for something they might have missed, an untitled God.
Paul took it as his point of entry. He said to them, that this god which is a god of something they don't know yet was actually Jesus, the Son of God who was crucified and resurrected.
While he had managed to convert some, many told him, okay, no worries. We will think about and will let you know once we made up our mind. We'll call you, don't call us.

End of the Rope - A Christian blog in growing old

Growing old is part of every one's life. It is part of Christian life.

So what should a Christian attitude should be when it comes to growing old?

Bear in mind that life on earth is just temporary. This is not our true destiny.

All men and therefore all Christians were endowed with survival instinct, just like any other animals. We cling to life, we fear death, we want to live forever. This maybe a good for us temporarily and to further humanity, but as mentioned earlier, earthly life is not our destiny.

By growing old, we realised that soon or late, we will be passing over somewhere. But as long as we live, as long as we are not dead, we Christians should strive to live meaningfully and happily.

Christians have the responsibility to make their Christian and even non-Christian parents and elderly loved ones happy.

Christians should amuse and entertain them. Bingo is always a good option. It keeps their mind busy and it gives them something to look forward to for the morrow. Go for Online Bingo and it will even be more exciting - and manageable as well.

Christians should honor their parents, non-Christians must also do the same, many Atheists do love their parents. Let's make our old loved ones happy.

A Christian Blog on the Real Jesus

A Christian Blog on the Real Jesus - this blog post entry on Jesus life aims to answer the question, "who the man Jesus was?" or simply who the real Jesus was.

This blog on the real Jesus is different from most of writings about Jesus for this focuses more on the human aspect of the real Jesus.

Many blog posts on Jesus write more on his Divine life, i.e. a blog about Jesus who is God.

This blog posts about Jesus overlooked the meaning of importance of incarnation - the Word became flesh - God became man, the real Jesus.

A blog entry about the real Jesus as man will deepen one's faith and understanding of Christianity.

Many Christians think of Jesus as superman, someone very different from an ordinary man. This kind of thinking just missed the point with regards to Incarnation. Many Christians with this kind of thinking tend to be more exclusive of their lost brothers - the sinners, the misguided, the fall guys.

To know more about Jesus is to know more the human aspect of his life.

Many Christians I believe will be scandalised if I say that Jesus was an Animal But indeed he was an animal.

The word became flesh, we are all flesh, we are all animals. We are members ofo the animal kingdom. When God became man, he is therefore like us in all things (except sin) and therefore he was an animal like us. A thinking animal.

He can get angry, aroused, hungry, tired, ignorant etc. He should be taught how to speak, how to walk, and the likes. He needs to go to the toilet, he needs to take a bath etc.

The point of the Incarnation is for God to show us how to live like human though we are animals. God became animal in order to show us that we can be Godlike though we are animals.

Yes he can feed 5000, he can cure illness, he can command the sea - but all these can also be done by any ordinary man, by animal like us. Remember, he said that all you need is faith as big as a mustard seed and you can move mountain.

Yes we are animals, Jesus was an animal, but unlike other animals, we can move mountain, but first we have to have faith.

Why Christians love their enemies?

Why do Christians are taught to love their enemies?

Christians are not being imposed to do something that is hard to do but rather something that is good for Christians souls and Christians health.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 6:27-38.

But to you who hear I say, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. To the person who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other one as well, and from the person who takes your cloak, do not withhold even your tunic. Give to everyone who asks of you, and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you. For if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same. If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit (is) that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, and get back the same amount. But rather, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend expecting nothing back; then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as (also) your Father is merciful. Stop judging and you will not be judged. Stop condemning and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you."

Just imagine if what happen when you are angry. You cannot think right, you cannot eat right, your blood pressure soars, you cannot sleep well. Where are all these things leading to?

Christians knew the obvious answer. Being angry will eventually lead to illness and death.

God loves us so much, He doesn't want us to be stricken with heart attack. It's okay to be angry, but not until 6pm or 9pm during summer.

Love your enemies, you avoid being angry, you are more healthy. Health is wealth.

Don't give anyone the pleasure of making you angry.

Christians Lineage - Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar

You will note these names in the genealogy of Jesus, Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar.

This is very interesting because Perez and Zerah were the children of Judah whose mother was Tamar.

Now who is Tamar? Tamar is the daughter in law of Judah. So how did it happen?

It's oput vengeance and deceipt.

Vengeance because Tamar was upset at Judah. When she married his eldest son, he died. By default, the next son should marry her. Unfortunately he also died. The next son in line was suppose to marry her but Judah did not want another dead son. He sent Tamar home. . . to be continued

Christian Miracles or Magics

Miracles performed by Jesus should be understood on its proper context, i.e. Christian miracles context.

Non-Christians and Christians alike, in most instance, took Jesus miracles as magics. They wanted to believe in Jesus because of his magics - which are actually miracles. Thereby such Christians founded their faith not on Jesus as God but Jesus as the magician. Such faith of a Christian is simply absurd.

Once you take miracle as magic then you are missing the point. Note that those who wanted to follow Jesus after the feeding of about five thousand people were rebuked by him, telling them that you wanted to follow me because I fed you. He then made a point that what is more important is a food that when taken you will never be hungry again.

Miracles are event in which Jesus showed as the unconditional love of God for his people. They are not meant to impress us that he can do something which only he can do but rather he is simply telling us that "I love you".

If you can therefore show God's love to others, whether it is something as simple as giving water to a thirsty homeless person, then you are showing God's love. Therefore you are doing a miracle.

Being a Catholic Christian

Take your Christian identity seriously. If you are a Catholic Christian then act like a catholic Christian.

Forget about those worldly things. Don't be concerned to much about money and carreer. About pleasing your boss and your partner. Delving too much about the future. Catholic Christians should not concern with these non-essentials.

Take tine to pamper yourself with Personal Stress Relief from Economic, Environmental Issues. Remember Mary, the sister of Martha, all she did was sat by Jesus feet and listned. And according to Jesus, what she did is much more important than keeping oneself busy in the kitchen.

Feed yourself with food that gives you everlasting life and that which will not make you hungry again.

Cars for Christians

Being a Christian what should one take into consideration when buying a car - a Christian car.

This passage from the gospel of Saint Mathew is a good guidance to follow in choosing cars for Christians:

Blessed are the meek for they shaler inherit the earth. Mt. 5:5

Meek means showing patience and humility.

When choosing a car whether used cars or brand new cars humility is the right virtue to give importance to. They should not go for extravant and those not environmentally friendly cars but rather they should choose the ones which are not harmful to the environment, In other words choose the one that has lower carbon foot print.

Christians must also practice driving properly in order to minimize their carbon dioxide emission. Some points to be noted are: using the right gear, i.e. don't use lower gears unnecessarily as they are consuming more fuels; refreain from using brake unnecessarily to keep you from using lower gears.

Having said all these, still the best way of being humble is to walk as much as possible. With walking your carbon footprint is zero. Indeed the meek shall inherit the earth.

TNHS Batch 1982

THNHS Batch 1982 and the Story of Creaton

The Creation story in the bible has nothing to do with the actual
creation. (But TNHS Batch 1982 has)

1. The Author was not present during creation.
2. Some elements of creation are very unrealistic, like water from above and water from below.

The story of creation is actually about civil engineering, i.e. arranging thing in its proper order.

If you read closely the genesis story of creation, you will soon realize that the main theme is order. This is precisely what a civil engineer does. Arranging things in its proper order, or making this world a better place to live in.

Constructing a building, specially if done through 'bayanihan' will give you a deeper sense of fulfillment. This is so because we share in the creating power of God.

THNHS Batch 1982 communal effort in building a school class room is just a perfect example of living out the meaning of creation.

Well done batchmates. God Bless TNHS Batch 1982

Jesus loves animals

Jesus loves animals. Animals have special place in Jesus life and ministry:

Matthew 10:29
Not even a sparrow, worth only half a penny, can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it.

Luke 2:6-8
Jesus was born in a manger among the animals.

Shepherds tending sheep saw the angels announcing the birth of our Savior.

Luke 19:28
Jesus, for His triumphal entry, chose two colts to ride into Bethany at the hill of the Mount of Olives.

Revelation 4:1-8; 5:11-13
Beasts are gathered around throne
Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders…The I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: ”To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”

Revelations 19:11
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. And the one sitting on the horse was named Faithful and True.

Jesus will return as our Messiah riding a white horse…

All throughout scriptures, we see the animals included in important events. God has created them all for a purpose.

May you find comfort and hope by reading about these events in your favorite bible translations.

Yes, he loves animals, and that includes us, - the so called rational animals.

Ten Reasons Why Judas should be in Heaven

Did Judas go to hell or in heaven?

There are so much injustice done to Judas. It is about time for us to change this error. Here are ten reasons why Judas should be in heaven.

1. Judas passed the test; he was one of the twelve. He is therefore willing to sell everything he owns, doesn’t mind not attending his parents funeral, or sleeping anywhere when the evening comes.

2. Benefit of the doubt. No one really knew what his real motive in betraying Jesus was. If he wanted him dead why did he commit suicide?

3. If the beliefs of those misguided are true, i.e. crucifixion was absolutely necessary for our salvation, then Judas is a hero for without him there could be no crucifixion.

4. He was not actually happy of what he did, hence he committed suicide.
5. He must be repentant of his actions otherwise he should be rejoicing when Jesus was crucified.

6. He was created in God’s image and likeness. Where else could one be if he is God’s image and likeness.

7. God loves him unconditionally. Jesus prepares a mansion for the twelve and that includes Judas Iscariot.

8. God always say “I forgive.”

9. His suicide could be his way of saying, “I’m sorry.”

10. If in the hour of death a person is sorry for his sins then he is saved. Again if he was regretful and contrite of what he had done he should have not killed himself.

A Christian Blog

A Christian blog should be a blog that covers a comprehensive range of topics.

Christian blog should be religious in nature but the message should be sensible to anyone, Christians and non-Christians alike. To fellow Christian bloggers, to religious, practicing Christians, professionals, ordinary workers, unemployed, young and olds, atheist, non-believers, religiously neutrals or simply to everyone.

Christian life is about life in general. Christian life is about God. And God is love. Love is what everyone wants, to love and be loved in return. A loving experience is an expereince of God, it is an experience of a typical Christian life.

Thanks for visiting my Christian blog. God bless

Christian Name, John

John is a very common name for Christians. It can be one of the most popular name for Christians and even non Christians.

So where did this Chirstian name John originates? Who is the first Christian named John? How many Christians are named John or how many non-Christians have this name, John?

When Elizabeth conceived St. John, Zecharia became mute because he doubted. He only got his speech back when he confirmed that the new born boy should be named John. Since then, the Christian name John became very popular.

Is the spostle John named after him? It's very unlikely because their difference in age is not realy that much. Perhaps John is already used before but not as popular now.

Some Chrisitans do not know that John the Evangelist is not the same person as St. John the apostle.St John (evangelist) died much earlier.

He was murdered because of one very spectacular dance performance. What a tragic end for St. John. Many others Christians named John also had tragic deaths. Many Johns had been martyred. John indeed is a good name, a good name for Christian. Would you like to name your son, John? Would you like him to follow the foot steps of St. John and the others Christians - St. Johns?

Saint Judas Iscariot

Psychology was not yet born during the time of Judas hence very few understood his circumstance.

The mere fact that Judas committed suicide proved that he regreted so much the consequence of his action.

Did he really want to betray Jesus or did he simply want him to act now, i.e. start the revolution. Unfortunately Judas understanding of revolution is different to that of Jesus.

Perhaps Saint Judas Iscariot was thinking of a bloody one while Jesus meant using the power of love to overcome the enemy.

Poor Judas, all he needed to say was 'I'm sorry.' but he took it too seriously to the point of taking his life.

The bottom line of this is that Judas was regretful, contrite and sorrowful. He should have seen a counselor but unfortunately none was existent during those days.

Christian Lion - ideal image for a religious t shirt

A lion is a very special animal. It is considered as the king of the jungle. It's dangerous, ready to kill. But a lion can be tamed.

A tamed lion is a christian lion. Taming lion is easy if you are a believer. Remember Daniel, he was thrown in the lion's den and yet, he came out unhurt. Because of this the king was converted.

I just think it's a good idea to wear a t shirt printed with an image of a tamed Christiann lion, indeed a christian t shirt.

Surely this will be eye catching and hopefully will bring others to faith.

The Christian Fish Symbol

The meaning of the symbol of fish in Christianity

The early Christians where constantly persecuted during those days. That was the time before the conversion of Constantino (the Roman emperor who saw the sign of the cross in the sky, won a war and became a Christian).

Worships and Christian cults were done in clandestine. Christians meet and recognized each other by a certain password, which is the fish sketch. It works just like in espionage. When a Christian needs to be identified by another Christian in a secret meeting, one will just draw this symbol unmindfully and the other will eventually got the message.

But what is the origin of this symbol? Perhaps they chose this symbol because loves to eat fish. His apostles were mostly fishermen. When he wanted to be recognized as the risen Lord, he ate fish with them. Yes fish has special meaning in their friendship.

But the most popularly accepted meaning is the Greek translation of fish ichthus which is an acronym for "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior" that is Iesous (Jesus) CHristos (Christ) THeou (God) Uiou (Son) Soter (Savior)

Outdoor Worsihp

Worship God outdoor is very nourishing to the soul. God made us beautiful ‘paintings’ and images for our viewing pleasures. The sunshine and the sunset are priceless gifts from him. The clear blue sky and the horizon – you can never ask for more.

The sermons on the mount are just one example in Christian history where the teachings of Jesus of the beatitudes are remembered in eternity.

The feeding of the five thousand people was an unduplicated Christian picnic of all time.

Eighty degrees Fahrenheit is just an ideal weather for an outdoor picnic-worship event. Just about the weather in Arizona. So what are we waiting for, let us go out and worship the king of kings, the most powerful God, the God who is love.

Are you a Christian who is missing the experience of worhisping God outdoor. Arizona could be the place to be. Check out Scottsdale real estate, help is just withing your click.

mint and dill and cummin

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 23:23-26.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. (But) these you should have done, without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel! Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You cleanse the outside of cup and dish, but inside they are full of plunder and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, cleanse first the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may be clean.

In typical harvest of any farm products, the Jews were required to pay tithes for them.

Mint, dill and cummin were ofcourse farm products but they were not as many in quatity compare to grains and the like. But since Pharisses were hypocrites, they still pay tithes on them.

This is a classic case when the primary became the secondary and the secondary became the primary.

A genuine Christian act comes from the heart, i.e. done because of love, and that which makes relationships stronger.

Take the case of going to mass on Sundays. The proper attitude should be, 'I want to attend the mass because I want to listen to the word of God, I want to be with the Lord and with my fellow Christians.' Some Christians simply go to mass to fulfill their Sunday obligations, just for the sake of attendance.

Be Tough

Christian life is just like running in a race, it’s just like a sports game, as St Paul tells us in his letter to the Corinthians, “. . . run in such a way that you may win . . . exercise self-control in all things . . . Corinthians 9:24-27)

Hunger for winning should be the driving force of everyone in living out the Gospel.

I get inspiration for my hunger for winning in the National Football League. I get too many inspirations from the different teams competing to win the Super Bowl. Winning this is culmination of the tournament in the largest professional American football league in the world. (Since its foundation during the twenties)

The largest professional American football league in the world, NFL was founded in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association (the league changed the name to the National Football League in 1922).

The following are my top three pick of players all coming from California 49ners.

Shaun Hill (born on January 9, 1980 in Parsons, Kansas) is an NFL quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. He attended the University of Maryland and played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2002 until 2006. He was then signed by 49ers and playing for the same as of this time. He is best known for scoring a touchdown on first NFL drive (December 9, 2007).

Scott McKillop (born March 4, 1986 in Monroeville, Pennsylvania) is an American football linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the University of Pittsburgh, he was considered as one of the top prospects linebaker in the 2009 NFL Draft and went in the fifth round

In his first season as a starter, the 6-foot-2, 245-pound "Mike" linebacker enjoyed one of the most productive seasons ever by a Pitt defender, finishing with 151 total tackles, the third highest single-season total in Pitt history.

He was leading candidate for the country's top defensive awards in 2008.

Kentwan Balmer (born on October 15, 1986 in Weldon, North Carolina) is a defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers.

He played during his college years for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He played high school football at Weldon High School in Weldon, North Carolina.
He started all twelve games at right defensive tackle, ranking second on the team with 59 tackles (33 solos), including 3.5 sacks for minus 26 yards, 9.5 stops for losses of 44 yards and four quarterback pressures. In 2005 he played 11 games with three starts and 17 tackles (5 for a loss) and 1 sack.

Balmer was selected in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft, 29th overall. He was originally drafted as a DT but was moved to DE due to the Niners 3-4 defensive scheme.
