Why Christians like to believe in hell?

Why Christians like to believe in hell?

Many people believe in hell because they are animals.

What’s the connection?

Man is an animal. Animals are hungry for blood. Do you know why boxing is a very lucrative industry? Why boxing promoters and champions are humongously richer than ordinary people? It’s because boxing is bloody and animals like blood hence they can easily market boxing for there is a bloody need for blood. Animals thrive for survival, animals like to see its opponent bloody dead.

So why do Christians love to believe in hell? Because as Christians they are not supposed to inflict harm to their enemies, they are bound by the law that says Thou shalt not kill. So they say, okay, I don’t have to harm you now but I am sure you will rot in hell (what a great deviation from Jesus teaching: Love your enemies.)

A genuine Christian is like the saint who said, Ï want my rapist/killer to be with me in heaven.

A Christian Blog on the Evangelists writing styles

If the Gospels are historical account of Jesus life why do some passages which are supposed to be similar are different?

Below is Mark and Matthew's version of James and John's request? Is this just a simple error or do the authors have different intention in narrating them.

The point being is that while the gospels are books of truth, they are not historically true necessarily. In other words if you take it as a book of history then you might be missing the important point.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 10:35-45.

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him and said to him, "Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you." He replied, "What do you wish (me) to do for you?" They answered him, "Grant that in your glory we may sit one at your right and the other at your left." Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I drink or be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?" They said to him, "We can." Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink, you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized; but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give but is for those for whom it has been prepared." When the ten heard this, they became indignant at James and John. Jesus summoned them and said to them, "You know that those who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt. But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all. For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Matthew 20:20-28 (New International Version)

A Mother's Request
20Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.
21"What is it you want?" he asked.
She said, "Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom."

22"You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said to them. "Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?"
"We can," they answered.

23Jesus said to them, "You will indeed drink from my cup, but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father."

24When the ten heard about this, they were indignant with the two brothers. 25Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

Something to think about

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 11:37-41.

After he had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you.

Think about this. Imagine you are not A Christian and you don't know anything about the bible.

How would you feel when you have invited someone to dine in your house and then sudenly he started talking something about your weakness, negative traits and the like. Think about this.

A Christian blog on online evangelization

We are now in the age of information technology and internet is the most powerful leverage. Sadly, the works of Satan seem to be taking advantage of this leverage rather than the works of good.

It’s about time that Christian evangelizers should take action. The message of Christianity should be preach to the whole world as quickly as possible or else Satan will win.

The generation Y are online most of the time. They are very fragile and prone evil information. They will be future generation; they will be the future Christians. If we want Christianity to have a holy future we must bring God’s words to them.
It will be a sin of omission if we don’t do anything about it. Internet technology should be working for Christianity rather than against Christianity. Information technology should be utilized to tell the world of God’s love.
Christian websites should multiply. They should grow exponentially and they should speak the language of the Generation Y. They should be understandable by the youth of today.

Christian websites should be hosted by an appropriate webhost. A webhost for Christians. A webhost that can speak the language of younger Christians. A webhost that is good enough to be the Generation Y apple of the eye.
Indeed web hosting is very important. Christians bloggers and Christian web owners should find theright webhost. They should go for the No. 1.

A Christian Blog on Hell

The Evil of believing in Hell

Believing in hell is a lost - lost situation i.e. as opposed to win win situation. Hell may actually exist and so we must believe in its existence but the conventional idea that if you committed heavy sinful acts you will be punished by God by condemning you to hell.

What is wrong with this belief is the idea that God is punitive. But Christians knew that God is love.

The evil of believing in hell the conventional way is that it distort the idea of God as love. It makes God insult itself (i.e. creating lot of craps and evil in the world.) It encourage Christians to do good not because of the virtue of doing good but because of fear of hell.

Christians motivation should be love not fear. Yes hell exist but it exist because God is love,. The only reason why hell exist is that God love those souls in the hell so much - UNCONDITIONALLY.

Heroes of newerth

Christian life is a battle between the good and the evil. At the end of time the evil will be overcome by The Good.

Growing into Christian maturity entails a lot of conflicts. The key to survival is constant prayer and fasting.

Your goal is to conquer the evil. Many times you will fall, much time you will be defeated but there is always the assurance that in the end you will prevail. There is no way for the evil to win as long as you keep on fighting.

The more you win the more you grow as mature Christian. When fight the evil forces, be it in a form of human, or a friend, or a real enemy. Of a bad habit or physical weakness, or pressure from your peers, always remember that God is with you.

Just keep on fighting as if you are playing a computer game. Be one like the heroes of newerth. You shall conquer the evil forces. Fight till the end. Never give up.
