Jesus was born on December, winter time in most places on earth except Australia. If Jesus was born in Bethlehem the infant could have died of pneumonia because of very cold weather.
There are two possible explanations. Either Jesus was born somewhere else, like Australia where the weather is warmer during Christmas or perhaps he was not actually born on December.
During Jesus time, there was no calendar yet, at least not one similar to what we are using now. Therefore the latter one is more plausible. Jesus should have been born on a different month.
So why December? It is very likely that the Romans have done it again. Remember, Sabbath day is suppose to be Church day, but the Romans changed it from Saturday to Sunday. Sunday is the day of the sun - then they made it as the day of God. Perhaps December is a month where they use to celebrate other pagan rituals, but when the Romans were converted, they altered the Christian way of doing things in accordance to their likings.
The infant Jesus was an ordinary child. he can get sick, he can die of pneumonia or other viral infections due to inappropriate and not so clean place of birth. But even if Jesus died in infancy, still salvation went on.

Sorry but its well known that Jesus wasn't actually born in December. It was the fourth century when many Christian converts felt uncomfortable with the pagan celebrations so they chose certain pagan dates to set up rival celebrations such as the winter solstice which is around Dec 25th, at which time they started to celebrate the birth of Jesus which was originally known as the feast of the nativity.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by 'even if Jesus died in infancy'? Please correct me if I'm wrong but if you say your a Christian but you say that it doesn't matter if your a Muslim or Atheist or Christian that simply doesn't make sense. Atheists believe there is no God, Muslims don't believe Jesus died on the cross or resurrected, Christians believe Jesus died on the cross and resurrected and was God, Christians believe there is one God yet Hindus think there is 3 million gods, Buddhists don't have a God, Hindus think we reincarnate, Christians believe in one death, one chance then judgement. If they are all contradictory they simply can't all be true so surely they are all wrong or one is right?
Interesting to read your thoughts though.
Thanks
why christians have more than one godother than jesus, we have now Virgin mary, then a lot of local saints in different places . If we have one god, why we should worship mary,. How she is Virgin. Why we don't worship joseph. It s very sad U are giving a lot of wrong explanations
ReplyDelete@ Dan: Jesus was an ordinary man like us. He can get ill. God became man to show us how an ordinary man should live his life. To do this he must be like us, an ordinary man. But since there is no impossible to God, even though Jesus died in infancy he could have still saved us. In the same manner that even though the Jews had succeeded in crucifying and killing him, still he had saved us.
ReplyDeletePlease go and read leviticus, It is only through the shedding of blood that there is the remission of sin. Jesus by the way way never ordinary, always being God even from before he came to earth. He was there when the foundations of the earth where formed ring any bells. Guys he is our mighty high preist as hebrews says and yes he did come in the form of the flesh an was tempted even as we are tempted. But he never was ordinary, such banter comes from the mouth of non christians, not those who have read and understand his word. You have studied and do understand his word dont you??
ReplyDeleteWell said Anonymous. Jesus Christ was certainly no ordinary man and could not have died as an infant since this was not God's plan and it would not have provided salvation. He was to be crucified and shed His blood for the remission of our sins.
ReplyDeleteGeorge, sayinh that dying as infant could not have provided salvation is puting a limitation on a perfect being.
