Do Prayer Works

There are four types of prayer, namely adoration, contrition, thanks giving and supplication.

When we speak of prayer, generally we mean prayer of supplication. Does prayer work when we pray for something? Definitely yes but maybe not in the way you think it does.

When we pray for something we think as if God's answers prayers in the same manner when someone asks for a favor from us.

As if in a sense we are trying to convince God or to make God acts on our behalf i.e God is like playing to be someone who wanted to be given importance who would only give our needs if we ask for it. Or God is a God who does not know our needs hence we need to remind him if what are they? No, God is simply none of those.

Even before we pray God knows our needs and He is very much willing to answer them.

The main difference between a person who pray and one who does not is that the forme in the course of his praying finds the answer while the latter misses God's answer to his needs. In other words when we pray (for something) we tend to become more aware of God's way of communicating to us hence we find the answer. On the other hand if you don't pray you will never hear God's way of talking to you and consequently you miss his answers to your needs. (view source)
