What is Christian/Theology? Theolgy is a combination of two Greek words, theos and logos, which can simply mean as God and study, therefore Theology can be defined as that which studies God.
However in Christian context, Christian/Theology is not simply a study of things pertaining to God. Anyone can study God whether Christians or not.
So what is the difference?
Christian/Theology must be differentiated from theodicy, in which the latter is a branch of Philosophy which study God. Theology also studies God however the object of such study is not simply gaining knowledge about God, but rather gaining knowledge about God which can enrich one’s faith. As St. Thomas defined it, (Christian/Theology) theology is faith seeking understanding.
