Is Virgin Mary indeed virgin? One of the qualities of Virgin Mary that stands out most is her virginity.
In today's (canonical) standard, if she was/is indeed physically virgin then her marriage to St Joseph can be dissolved on the ground of unconsummated marriage.
Were those brothers of Jesus mentioned in the Bible his real brothers or as currently taught were they only his cousins? Assuming that they were indeed Jesus brothers by consanguinity, then what is wrong with it. Isn't it that one of the purposes of marriage is to have children? Is sex between married couples wrong? If not, then being virgin while married at the same time is not really a virtue.
Whether Virgin Mary was indeed a virgin only she and God know. The problem with giving to much emphasis on Mary's virginity is that very few of the women of today can actually relate with her or make her as a role model. Furthermore sometime it misleads others by having a notion that sex is evil. Some would even link original sin to sexual intercourse.
I believe that Mary's PURITY should be given more importance rather than her virginity. Even if she had other children our Salvation would not be affected.
